Below is a list of on-campus GCU students who are required to have health insurance.  The fall enrollment period will be June 4th – September 15, 2026.

  • Counseling Students
  • Pre-Licensure Nursing (Clinical Participants)
  • Athletic Training (Clinical Participants)

If you do not qualify for the GCU health insurance, we are here to assist. All students at GCU (full time, part time, online and in-person) have access to our support team who can assist. We’re here to help you enroll through healthcare.gov and find out if you qualify for a subsidy. While enrollment is only available during specific open enrollment periods, you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period if you’ve experienced a qualifying life change. Please note that in some states our assistance may be limited, but we’ll always do our best to point you in the right direction.

Individual Health Insurance

Open enrollment is November 1 – January 15.  Our Student Support team is available to answer questions and to see if you may qualify for a subsidy to help cover the cost of the insurance. Certain qualifying life events may allow you to enroll outside of open enrollment. Please call our office for more information.

Short-Term Health Insurance

Are you in a transition period or have you missed the Open Enrollment period for healthcare.gov.  A short term insurance plan may be a good option. Short-Term health insurance is not comprehensive.  For those who qualify, we recommend the GCU insurance plan or other ACA compliant insurance. Questions? Call us at (877) 247-8817
